Fernando Otero is Associate Vice President, External Manufacturing. MSD International Business GmbH, where he is responsible for the External Manufacturing Network in the Global Biologics Operations within MSD’s Manufacturing Division. He provides strategic direction and relationship management for the contract manufacturing operations that support the supply of drug substances and drug products. Fernando began his career at MSD in 1996 within Technical Operations in Puerto Rico and has had roles in Technology and Operations across small molecules, vaccines and biologics. He has worked and lived in Brazil, Singapore, and the United States and is currently based in Switzerland. He holds a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University.
