DCAT Week COVID-19 Protocols

Updated January 11, 2022 - [A print-ready PDF version of this policy can be found here.]

The DCAT organization is committed to remaining fully compliant with the City of New York’s COVID-19 vaccination requirements and protocols. Please monitor this policy leading up to DCAT Week, as these policies may change. For 2022, the DCAT Week event will be conducted as follows:

  • The City of New York requires that face masks be worn in all indoor public places unless businesses or venues implement a vaccine requirement. However, the City of New York strongly recommends that everyone wear a mask in all indoor public settings, even when it is not required. Therefore, DCAT strongly encourages everyone to wear a mask during all DCAT Week functions as an added layer of protection.
  • Under the City of New York’s Emergency Executive Order 225, there are no medical exceptions or exemptions to the protocols to attend indoor events in New York City.
  • All DCAT Week attendees, guests, and affiliates age 12 and up will be required to provide proof of full vaccination* against COVID-19. Accepted vaccines are those approved or authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and vaccines listed for emergency use (EUL) by the World Health Organization. Proof of vaccination and identification (either photo driver’s license or passport) are required to access all DCAT Week event areas or queues leading to:
    • DCAT Member Company Employee-only areas, including Ballroom Level (2nd Floor) of InterContinental Barclay Hotel
    • DCAT Member Company Lounge (InterContinental Barclay Hotel)
    • DCAT Member Company Lounge (Lotte New York Palace Hotel)
    • DCAT Member Company Announcement Forum event and Education Programs
    • DCAT Networking Events, Receptions, and Organizational Meetings
    • DCAT Staff Office (Barclay Salon, InterContinental Barclay Hotel)
    • DCAT Member Company Business Meeting Spaces in Official DCAT Week Hotels
    • DCAT Annual Dinner (New York Hilton Midtown Hotel)
    • DCAT Week Run & Walk (New York City’s Central Park)

* For U.S.-based attendees: To ensure adequate time for an immune response to occur, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) considers a person fully vaccinated 2 weeks after completion of a two-dose mRNA series (Pfizer and Moderna) or one dose of Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine. The CDC recommends that people remain up to date with their vaccines, which includes additional doses for individuals who are immunocompromised or booster doses at regular time points. Individuals who are moderately or severely immunocompromised should get an additional primary shot and a booster shot.

For international travelers to the United States, you are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after your dose of an accepted single-dose vaccine, 2 weeks after your second dose of an accepted 2-dose series, 2 weeks after you received the full series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine (not placebo) in a clinical trial, or 2 weeks after you received 2 doses of any “mix-and-match” combination of accepted COVID-19 vaccines administered at least 17 days apart. See more.

  • Attendees and affiliates of DCAT Week will be required to show proof of vaccination and identification to attend DCAT Week functions across all Official DCAT Week Hotels and will be verified each time they re-enter the areas noted above.
  • DCAT requires that Member Companies with reserved Business Meeting Space check for proof of full vaccination and identification for all guests entering their Business Meeting Space.

DCAT and its Official DCAT Week Hotels reserve the right to extend or modify proof of vaccination and identification requirements to other areas within Official DCAT Week Hotels, which include:

  • Hotel 48LEX
  • The Benjamin Hotel
  • The New York Hilton Midtown
  • The InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel
  • The Lexington Hotel
  • Lotte New York Palace Hotel
  • The San Carlos Hotel

Proof of Vaccination

For proof of vaccination, you will need your photo identification along with:

For international attendees: Vaccination card from the country where you received the COVID-19 vaccine.

For U.S.-based attendees:

  • CDC Vaccination Card. A digital photo or photocopy of this card is also acceptable.
    OR
  • CLEARHealth Pass. DCAT will accept digital vaccine cards in the CLEAR mobile app.
    • Do now:
      • Step 1: Download the CLEAR app (Android | iOS)
      • Step 2: Create an account and set up your digital vaccine card. Please note that the DCAT Week 2022 event will not be listed on that app until Feb. 4th.
    • Starting February 4, 2022:
      • Step 3: Connect your CLEAR profile to the DCAT Week 2022 event in the app and complete the health pass.
        • This step must be completed no earlier than 45 days prior to the start of DCAT Week in case there are changes to New York City’s vaccine protocols.

Hotel Sanitation Protocols

As of January 7, 2022, sanitation protocols at Official DCAT Week Hotels include, but are not limited to:

  • Enhanced cleaning procedures that include UV light technology, HEPA filtration, and hospital-grade disinfectants for use and effectiveness against viruses, bacteria, and other airborne pathogens.
  • Increased frequency of cleaning by focusing on high-touch areas in public spaces and guest rooms including counters, room keys, light switches, elevator buttons, doorknobs, TV remote controls, and phones.
  • Sanitizing stations are located throughout hotel public spaces and meeting spaces.

For more information about a specific hotel’s policies, please contact the hotel directly.

Member Company Name Badges

The DCAT organization’s traditional Member Company Name Badge is used by attendees for instant introductions, at-a-glance name recall, and to make new connections easier. The Member Company Name Badge is only available to employees of Registered DCAT Member Companies.

Employees of Registered Member Companies can obtain a Member Company Name Badge by pre-registering at dcatweek.org/MemberBadges or by registering onsite at the DCAT Staff Office located in the InterContinental Barclay (Barclay Salon, 1st Floor) or outside of the Member Company Lounge at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel (Villard Ballroom, 2nd Floor).

Attendees are required to show proof of vaccination and identification in order to pick up their Member Company Name Badge. Each attendee must be present to pick up their own badge and may not pick up a badge on behalf of another person.

A Member Company Name Badge is not a substitute for proof of vaccination. DCAT Week attendees and affiliates will still be required to show proof of vaccination and identification to attend DCAT Week functions across all Official DCAT Week Hotels and will be verified each time they re-enter the areas as noted above.

Access to Education Programs and Networking Events with Member Company Name Badge

The DCAT organization’s traditional Member Company Name Badge is also used by attendees who have pre-registered for Education Programs and Networking Events. Registration for all events for which an attendee has pre-registered is identified through a QR Code printed in the corner of the name badge. Therefore, those attending DCAT Week programs and events must pick up their badge at the DCAT Staff Office located in the InterContinental Barclay (Barclay Salon, 1st Floor) or outside of the Member Company Lounge at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel (Villard Ballroom, 2nd Floor). Again, each attendee must be present to pick up their own badge and may not pick up a badge on behalf of another person. Pre-registration is encouraged to expedite the pick-up process.

Access to Annual Dinner and Name Badges

The DCAT organization’s Annual Dinner Name Badges are created through an online portal on the DCAT Week website for those DCAT Member Companies who have purchased dinner table(s). These badges are different from the DCAT Member Company Name Badge. A company’s badge packet will be provided to the Company Table Contact from Monday through Thursday of DCAT Week in the DCAT Staff Office in the InterContinental Barclay (Barclay Salon, 1st Floor). It is the responsibility of the Company Table Contact to retrieve the badge packet and distribute the dinner badges to their guests.

All members and their guests will be required to show proof of vaccination and identification to attend the DCAT Annual Dinner and related events.

The City of New York strongly recommends that everyone wear a mask in all indoor public settings, even when it is not required. Therefore, DCAT strongly encourages everyone to wear a mask during the DCAT Annual Dinner as an added layer of protection.

DCAT Member Companies holding Dinner Tables will receive additional detailed information regarding the event.

If you have any questions about these protocols, please contact the DCAT Office at +1-609-208-1888 or 1-800-640-DCAT (3228).
